Published numerical benchmark

Reproduce one traceable passive quarter-car case.

The Zhao et al. 2015 benchmark adds source provenance, independently extracted Figure 9 data, computed error metrics, and an editable Studio entry without replacing the primary Getting Started path.

Current product scope

VehicleLab 1.1.1 starts with a linear, passive Half Car · 4 DOF model with coupled heave and pitch. Quarter Car · 2 DOF remains available as a simpler reference. Both models support Study, Explore, and Compare in a browser Web Worker. Study and Compare offer Transient and Frequency analysis; Explore is Transient-only. Completed evidence supports Motion in Transient Study and Compare, deterministic CSV, per-plot PNG, and local PDF Engineering Reports. Projects save definitions for a later run. Learn how reports preserve evidence boundaries.

Evidence boundary

A generic preset—not a named production vehicle.

Current evidence supports the documented mathematical model, numerical implementation, Worker path, browser workflow, and one published passive numerical reproduction. Physical correlation has not been performed and no experimental data is claimed.

Half-Car parameter exploration

Half-Car Transient Explore changes one physical parameter at a time. Inspect completed trade-offs and promote a selected candidate to Compare; no automatic optimization or recommendation is applied.

Half-Car Frequency Study

Half-Car Frequency Study is available in Study → Half Car → Frequency. Transient response describes a road event over time; frequency response describes steady-state harmonic motion across frequency. The validated 4-DOF model retains nine complex responses with explicit rear-road delay and front-road normalization. Completed CSV, PNG and PDF exports preserve evidence; imported projects require rerunning.

Half-Car Frequency Compare

Study → Half Car → Frequency → Compare a design change. Baseline and Variant A use the same harmonic experiment, with explicit physical changes, complex evidence and completed CSV/PNG/PDF exports. Follow the Frequency Compare guide.
